Q. The palette you use in your video--is it custom made or
is it commercially available?
A. It’s just a piece of double thick window glass from the
hardware store, with a very thin sheet of warm gray plywood
glued underneath.
Q. Have you ever used a “Pochade” box when out in the field?
A. No, I don’t use a Pochade box. They are very nice, but I
make all my own equipment: boxes, easels, taboret, etc.
Q. You mentioned you made an outdoor painting easel from a
surveyor’s tripod. Can it be done
from a sturdy photo tripod?
A.
A number of my friends use photo tripods for painting. They
are very convenient, and a number of paint boxes on the
market today come with the screw-mounting bracket already
attached to accommodate them. |
